Rancho Del Campo started its country side horse back riding tour through Aruba's National Park "Arikok" to the Natural Pool in October of 1991.

When the idea of creating a horse back riding tour for tourist from Rancho Del Campo to the Natural Pool was first introduced, many thought it to be far out. Up to that time the only horse back riding ranch offering tours on the Island was; "Rancho El Paso" which is located close to the hotel area and which offers hourly rides near the hotels. The critics reasoned, that tourist would not want to travel all the way to the middle of the Island and then take a two and a half hour ride on horse back. What they failed to realize was that the creator of the horse back riding tour idea; Kenneth Faustin, had seen on a Television program how in Israel a 3 hour mule ride in the mountains had become a very popular tourist attraction. Not being one to give up easily, he decided to pursue the idea. Immediately some stables were built and now, horses were needed. Since at that time it was not possible to acquire a large number of horses on the island, it was decided to travel to Venezuela to purchase the horses.

In May of the 1991, 14 horses were acquired and brought to Aruba. However, there were still several question to be answered and various hurdles to overcome such as; the horses needed to get accustomed to each other, they needed to learn the trail; tour guides needed to be trained; how would the ride be marketed? ; how would the tourist be transported to the ranch? And many other requirement had to be met before operations could start. It all seemed to take forever!!!

De Palm Tours, Aruba's largest tour operator was approached to the market the tour to tourists. They immediately loved the idea and said that in their opinion it would be a success. Some valuable suggestions were added to make the tour more appealing. Finally everything was in place. The first tour of six riders was scheduled to begin October 31, 1999 at 9:30 A.M. There would be two tours daily, one at 9:30 A.M. and the other at 3:30 P.M. The tours would each last two and a half hours and be divided into three intervals. A forty five minutes ride through the National Park with its unique flora and fauna all the way to the Natural Pool. At the pool the riders would have a rest stop of half an hour and would be allowed to swim and snorkel there. Snorkeling equipment would be provided and refreshment would be served. The last part of the tour would also take forty five minutes and would take the riders along the beautiful North Coast shores where they would cross some sugar white sand dunes, along some Cunucu (country) houses and finally back to the ranch. The first riders just loved the tour. They had a ball. It was very evident Rancho Del Campo's horse back ridding tour to the Natural Pool would definitely be a success.

Since that time, tens of thousands of tourist and locals have taken the Natural Pool tour. Many keep coming back year after year to re-live their experience.

Today Rancho Del Campo offers various tours on horse back and has become the number one horseback riding ranch on Aruba. It is also the home of several award winning Paso Fino show horses. Each year it serves as the host ranch for the participants of Miss Universe "Aruba" pageant as well as the participants of Miss Aruba Teenage pageant. It has been written up in numerous International Magazines and News papers and featured in various international Television programs.

Come and experience it for yourself !
